KLZE not running; tried everything i can think of...

Since you've never really stated that you aligned the disty rotor and cam sprockets, nor did you mention that the timing was actually adjusted according to the timing light. Unless you changed the timing belts yourself, everything should have been spot on already, or nearly so. Therefore since you mentioned changing disty's and rotors and the like and you also said that by removing the rotor and repositioning on the shaft to the next position that only then could you get the engine to catch but only barely. Just for s---'s n' giggles, why not try the same thing and remove the rotor and go to the third possible position on the shaft. (I believe there's 3 possible positions isn't there???). Anyway, I'd give that a try since it's only a 5 - 10 minute job and let us know what happens then. I'm thinking that your first move of the rotor was enough for some cylinders to get enough spark (albeit, still out of proper sequence, but enough to get a partial detonation on a few strokes) to acquire a mediocre idle. At this point, might as well try anything.
