//***v6 turbo kit in production...yes!!! for the mx-3***\\

Post by babyblueMX3 »

I know some of you will like that title :)
I decided to team up with MMI for production of the first mx3 turbo kit.
This kit will be using my piping (intercooler and exhaust).
I will be sending my piping in the next few weeks to MMI so they can start producing it.
First before I do this I need to know if these will fit in stock bumper wich I think they will.
Second I doubt my intercooler will fit in the stock bumper so I will have to take this into consideration.
Not sure if this will fit a/c. Though I will try my best to find a way to do so.
this will put the turbo besides the disty.
You can take a look at my cardomain for pics and all that stuff.
Abe from MMI ask me to see if they were going to be enough interest for that kit. I know there was a thread with 17 pages long about it but that was last year.
The intercooler and all the piping would be around 1000$ + all the other stuff. Keep in mind that this would be a complete bolt on turbo kit and THE ONLY KIT available.
other details need to be discuss between me and Abe.

Who would be in for one. Keep in mind I'm doing this only for you guys. I had nothing to get out of this well a brand new set of piping :D

post questions and also if you are interested. Then I'll show Abe their's interest and we'll get this stuff going.
I am a man of my word. This won't be another thread that won't go nowhere.

you can post here if you have question or msn me, pm me...whaterever you feel like so.

well the current probe kit is around 750ish shipped for just the hotpipes.

if they could produce a MX-3 kit from your pipes for a similar price AND add the option of buying intercooler w/piping that would be superamazing!

I'm definitely interested as you already know :)

Gro that would be an option I'm sure. the 750 you talked about it for the group buy on mx6 though. I'm sure the price would be higher in normal time.

no doubt about this if u get this out I WILL buy this kit. keep us posted as i am extremely interested. do u got any idea as to when we could have this at our door? and also how much time around would we have to come up with the money? and this price is cad rite? and for the 1000 dollars u get an intercooler and the IC piping and exhaust piping or just the IC and exhaust piping? all im interested in is the exhaust but if the IC comes in that price il definitely take it.if u can try to answer all these questions plz and thx!

Is this gonna be a limited time offer? Or if it gets off the ground will it always be available?
This is making me want to shop around for another mx-3 with a good body and drop my kfze in it and turbo the biotch.

I'm interested. Allways wanted a turbo, but the cost of custom pipes is very prohibitive.

Before anyone asks, the flange for the turbo can but cut off and you can use any flange for any turbo you want. I'd guess this will come with a T3 flange though...

Also will there be a built in waste gate pipe on the primary side or will we have to use a turbo with a built in waste gate (yuck). They could sell an optional waste gate pipe block-off if someone decided to buy a built in waste gated turbo.

Now I need to start saving. Disco Potatoes are not cheap

I have no clue and when they'll be out but shouldn't take too much time. The time for me to do a little research, send the pipes in have them copy it( around 20days according to Abe) then voila.
ya 1000$ was for FULL piping and intercooler. Don't quote me on the price though. Could be a little lower, a little higher

No this will be mass produced. You'll be able to buy it whenever you want. That's the beauty of it. Maybe a group buy cuold be set for people interested soon.

ya t3 flange. The t4 and other bigger turbo too uses the same flange. Not sure about the others one though. That would be up to you guys to check for that.
The piping has it's own wastegate piping. I mean just before the turbo on the up pipe there's already the flange and all that jazz for a wastegate. you can block it off if you can and just use an internal wastagte if that suits you.

here a couple of pics of the probe kit...this will be VERY similar as far as the exhaust go.
you can also see where the wastegate mounts.
