Ford Probe Header.

Post by RazorMX-3 »

Hi. I read that some of you guys replace the stock header for a ford Probe header. My question was: Do you have to modify it a lot??? Because i've read on http://www.cardomain.com/memberpage/552384/6
that he had to heat up just round the bend so it wouldn't hit anything. What does there have to be changed to attach it to the rest of the exhaust, or is it just a bolt on (and I don't mean to attach it to the block, just the rest of the exhaust). What is an rough estimate of hp/torque gain?
And will the exhaust make a nice sound.
I've read in the workshop manual, that right after the exhaust manifold a warm up for the katalysor is. What does this do, and can it be missed from the car.
Can the Lambda probe just put on the probe header???
My last question is: Can i keep on driving with my katalysor, or doesn't it fit anymore after the mounting of the probe header??

I would assume you would need to weld up some additional pipping to the header.

As far as HP/TQ gains, there is no deffinative answer. Its all going to be based on the engine itself, the internal and external mods as well as you exhaust work already done. I would assume on a stock vehicle maybe ~5hp gain, but I cant be for certain.

I would contact the guy who owns that car for answers to your questions as noone will really have an answer but those who have done this mod. And from what Ive seen since that was orignally posted, not many have.

So the ports on the B6D are actually larger than the 2.0 FS? That doesn't make sense.... Anyone know about fitment on a BP motor?
