it should be pretty quick, enough to scare alot of people, go to mazda and get a new linkage, at least then you dont gotta worry about hte shifter falling through for a while

And this is a pretty common swap for Protege/escort guys. Its been done many times before. It basically launches the car into instant low 14 second territory.
Only question I have...where are you putting the radiator?
I never knew our cars were that fat. ICK If I didn't udderly HATE taking out interior parts i'd try and make it lighter, but i guess i'll just have to make a lil more power right?? LOL
1992 mx-3, a couple mods, i'm still a n00b
---Don't try and church your car up, MX-3's aren't fast---
Cheaper to gut the MX3 out as they have a serious issue that
jenny craig could work on, way to fat!

Nice job man! I swapped in the K8 at the beginning of the summer and now that I got a winter car I'll be hibernating my beast and putting in the ZE over the winter.
Check my CarDomain for photos (link in my sig).
Post up photos of the rad area and which rad you'll be using, etc.
I'm going to be sourcing a rad to fit where the condensor would on an A/C equipped Protege. Or getting one made.
Yes, the car is up and running, and pretty fun to drive. For the radiator... I have no idea what we used, we just found one in the shop that was a good size and this cool mexican guy put the inlet and outlet in all the right places to make it fit perfectly with no cutting of the rad support. The fan is from a J30 and sits in front of the rad instead of behind it and that fits as well. The axles are actually a little too long because theyre for the slightly wider mx3 so I hear some knocking and feel some vibration but it is driveable. I have to get all the other stuff still.... complete exhaust, complete suspension, the correct ecu, maybe a supercharger in the long haul....we'll see. Swap was definitely worth it.
Special thanks to Mario and Yoss and everyone else who helped at the shop. Also to Georonimo for giving me a good deal on the stuff. Excellent guy to do business with.
Also my other friend inspired to me to polish my car after he used this polish/clear coat stuff on the trunk. After 4.5 years of owning this car, today was the first day I saw the true red instead of nasty faded almost pink.

I tried egt/pro lx axles, unfortunately the inner joint is too small for the mx-3 transmission. I'll probably have to shorten both axle shafts by about a half an inch each.
