will this fit in my car?

I have a 1.6 dohc in my 94 and it took a crap and i was woundering if a 97 1.6 would fit cause i have a guy at a shop that has a 97 and he said it will work and bolt up the same. If it can fit does anyone know if there would be more power or the same as what i had before.

I'm assuming that it's from a Protege? It should physically fit, BUT you have to remember that engine is from an OBD-II vehicle and may have different sensors.
