Beeping/Chimes... why?

Post by Mazda_Power »

My car beeps at me for no apparent reason. It does it in cycles of ten. There are no lights on... I can't figure it out!!! It gets annoying. Also the airbag light is not on, yet both airbags are blown....?? :?

You provided your own clue - blown airbags. According to the 1994 "Mazda Factory Shop Manual Supp - Body Elec. Troubleshooting," Section 'S', Airbags, the

cycle of ten = airbag "damaged diagnostic module (system down fuse burnt)"

cycle of five = "Damaged D-sensor"

i.e., gonna keep happening unless you get the airbags fixed, unless someone on the board with more experience at this prob has a workaround while leaving the airbags blown...

THANK YOU VERY MUCH! I had a hunch that may be it. I had no idea that it would actually beep at you for that. Kinda smart though... it keeps dumb people from tossing in fake airbags / cheap steering wheels after an accident!

"Damaged D-Sensor" Does that mean driver's side airbag sensor then?

Thanks Again!
