better tires? to much skidding... better susp?

hmm ok i dont know why i got new regular gas struts (cheap and lazy maybe) and after my engine swap I noticed my front tires skid to much for example at take off... im a sucky driver bleh... any recomendations for tires on 15 inch pimp rims? (remove the word pimp because they are apc and suck)

what size are you running now? previous owner put 195s on mine

I need some sticky 205s on there at least, car likes to drift, esp rear end when i turn fast/make sharp corners

its 205 /55/r15 unfortunatelly..i wants 205 55 r 16 satstes traction a whatever that means..I do have them inflated to 30-40 psi..i think thats what it says/ they did it at the tire place..i am now thinking the problem maybe that i have them to inflated? the tire is called negotiator and are only one sided as far as cant flip them backward. what do u suggest?

I run Falken Azenis tires on my miata and did so on my old mx-3.

I used 205/50/15s these tires are amazing and grip almost at the level of an R compund.

They are not that much money maybe $120 CDN a tire.

thats what I would recomed, although they are summer only tires, if you tr to drive in snow you will not move and might die

i would go with falken azenis or 512's... azenis look cool as hell.. so do 512's but they are more of year round tires...
azenis dont have along tread life but are farily cheap

This is part of your problem. The data sticker on the edge your driver's side door recommends 28 PSI for your tires (if it's the same as my '92 GS). You should go with the manufacturer's recommendation and ignore the max PSI rating on the tire. That will make a big difference in your traction.

If you want to go up a size on your rims to 16" diameter (Plus 1) you should drop 10 in your sidewall size ratio ~ 205/45 R16. This way your actual tire diameter should be nearly the same and your speedometer will remain accurate.

As far as specific tire suggestions, I'll let everyone else jump in on that

Autocrossers use higher tire pressures than standard to prevent the tires from rolling onto the sidewalls in hard cornering so the handling is more consistent. It also helps them get the tires up to temperature more quickly. This may be why the shop did it, but it is NOT optimum for the street - as noted above, stick with the factory-recommended pressures.

As for sizing, the correct tire sizes for our cars on 16" wheels are either 225/45-16's or 205/50-16's. 205/45's are too small a diameter compared to stock GS size, though I think they might be alright compared to stock RS size.

Got Toyo T1-R's on mine, running at 28psi and I think they are really great

got a trackday on monday, will add ~5psi to them all, and if I can check after a few laps as the front-left gets the most abuse and will need dropping a tad, once its all warmed up a bit.

I"m not runing store tires or rims so I go by what the tires say, I have 50psi up front and 45psi on my rears, but when i drag, I lower my fronts to about 20-25psi
