Not too much longer now... (Bodyshop pics)

Post by Absath »

Feels like I've been without my car forever. But she's getting there. Once the projectors are cut to fit, the whole front end can be tied together nice and snug, then the sideskirts mounted, and she should be ready for paint.

The rear bumper is the BC2 bumper.

The rims are MSR 17"s.

The color will be Sunlight Silver Metallic, one of the newer Mazda silvers. Black rims, carbon fiber hood, and the windows will be tinted. Theme is silver and black, with a gray/silver and black interior.

Sort of a spectre-like thing. All emblems have been shaved, etc.

We didn't pull the engine to spray the engine bay. Once the car is back, I'm going to polish the red inside of the bay, then get the IM and valve cover powder coated red to match, and swap out the blue wires with red ones. So the whole car will be monochromatic except a touch of color under the hood.

Just wondering wot side skirts you have to put on, will they suit the rear fender inserts?

Took a couple more shots today. Car should be finished in a couple of weeks.

The sideskirts are mounted, but the ends are going to be shaped to blend in with the wheel well. Right now they stick out a little bit. You can also see the door jambs blasted with some of the silver paint.

From the rear. Hatch is back, but the GS spoiler hasnt been put back on yet. Also blasted with silver in the jambs.

My camera battery died just as I was about to snap some pictures of the front end, but the headlight conversion is just about finished. They're doing some work with the front bumper, and the fenders to shape the projectors nicely.

They have my stock hood on there now for fitment, and they found a bit of a gap between the fenders/hood and the MS front, which they're going to take care of. I think tomorrow they're going to put on the carbon fiber hood and start closing the gap.

I'll be swinging by tomorrow or thurday, so I'll snap some more pics.
