Airbag resistance??

Post by cjthor »

I am trying to find out the resistance for my steering wheel airbag. I think if i put a resistor the same resistance as my airbag in its place the light will stop flashing and the DAMN buzzer will quit. Any ideas?

Airbag Resistance

Post by mazda20 »

The miata forums are say that anything between 2 to 3 ohms, but the exact is 2.2 ohms. Could that be the same for the MX-3. Any one with facts on this.

Well, I got it.....after a few tries. The trick is exactly 2.2 ohms +-5% tolerance. I got a 1 ohm and a 1.2 ohm in sequence and it worked like a champ. No sounds and no air bag light.
