kl36 and kl31
kl36 and kl31
i've read all the posts, well not all a lot of them about how the kl31 ecu is better than the kl36, i have the kl36 and everything runs fine, im not asking for a indepth explination or "i heard" on this just looking for a short answer what actually makes the 36 better (from personal experience)
i got my ecu from a auto eunos 500 klze
i got my ecu from a auto eunos 500 klze
well It has never been proven that I know of that the kl31 is better or worse than the kl36 some people say the kl31 is better because it was for the manual tranny which in theory should work best for the manual car. I have been trying to get a hold of both ecu's at a resonable price so I can dyno them on the ze when I get it in to see if one is in fact better than the other.

Ah a fellow kiwi, now i would be interested to know
what times your running at meremere..
There is really no difference, just a few auxillary inputs
thats it, a KL36 will plug straight onto a k8 mannual loom
and fire a k8 straight up, idle rough as hell due to over fuelling.

laffs yea when its done, damm thing is sending me broke!
There are 4 active kiwi's on here and Grant, our Honaray Kiwi,
whos a good bloke for a aussie!
Im pretty much concertrating on the nightwars and the Four and
Rotary nat's be nice to get there this year but not much point in being
stone broke over it. But replacing the little stuff like bushes and tierod
end its starting to add up lol.....
so what propmt you to do the klze swap? cos its not really heard of in
nz or peaple hotting up the mx3 though there is a hell of a lot of them
running around, clutch issues are the first thing on these cars.
Be interesting to see what you can do as pick a part has tonnes
of V6 mazda's and 323's

i wanted a bit more out of the car, first thought about turbo but firgured whats the point, take a high comp engine and have to lower it just to feed a little boost, then i saw a 2.0 v6 in a mates lantis and thought thats just like mine but bigger so had a look into it and found the 2.5, had a look around at if it would be done, kindof was getting the engine before i checked properly, but i ended up here and saw it was very possible and thats how i ended up with the 2.5, but as with cars you get it and say this is fun and then a little time passes and you think this is really boring and want more, i keep telling myself its the clutch and will be fun again when i do that, but i will see.
they dont seem to have many 2.5's there, plenty of k8's, was looking at a decent clutch, i got my ecu from pick a part, nice and cheap, cant remember how much but was under 50 bucks.
i thought there would be a few more ppl from nz as there are more mx3's around that people are putting work into, i drove past 3 today with body kits on.
