Help - Could be emergency

Post by Citizenska »

When I turn the wheel to the left and right I hear a hissing sound coming from it.

93 MX Special Edition - Does have airbags

Just installed a CAI but I don't think this could be related. Just stated happening today, atleast I started noticing it.

Is pwr steering fluid level ok? Check it by removing the cap. A visual ck from outside on older cars can be deceiving as years of a maintained fluid level can darken a ring that makes a quick exterior glance appear as if level is normal. Course it's possible your ride is just P.O'd at ya for some reason too and so it hisses

Dont worry about it too much until your power steering starts getting heavy, mine does the exact same thing, has done for about 2 years, its never caused me any trouble, maybe top up ur powersteering fluid levels.

Actually on second thoughts just to clarify, does it happen when you turn the wheel a little or when its at full lock?

Mines only happens when its a full lock.

Not sure what it means if its constant
