going to the track on WED night

Post by Josh »

well im going to the track tomorrow night. put the radials on and uped the fuel pressure running great. except i think there is a hole in my IC. i hit 16psi and it fades off. i will have to see what i can do. maybe some JB weld will hold for a little while. its alot quicker without the big 17's on there, all my shifts stay over 5200RPM when im on it. and launches at 3K are almost perfect, no hop, little wheel spin(after they heated up a bit). i will let you all know what i can get out of it. hopefully i wont break anything.

well after only having two runs. having shitty reaction times on both, and no boost, a 14. 7 was the best i did. i was loosing boost like crazy, it would hit like 12psi then fade down to like 6. i had patched the hole in the IC eartier in the day. then for shits and giggles i messed around with some stuff (upping the boost alittle more) and for some odd reason its working great now. hell if i know, and it basically fixes it self. 15psi solid. im wondering if sitting there at an idle was just too hot. real disapointed cause it didnt get fixed untill after they closed. but i know with the boost fixed and with a decent reaction time i think the car is well capable of mid to low 13's. but i probably wont get a chance to see untill the swap is all done. oh well. i could try to go again. we will have to see.

well i have to repair one of the vacume inlets, real easy to do. then i have to port match two more ports on it and it will be ready to go. im not quite sure how im going to run the injectors, i have two options. the manafold is made to use DSM style injectors and i have some 720cc's to throw in it, but without a stand alone it would be way too much. so im just going to plug them off for now i think, and run the ones i have in the head for now. we will see. i need to get a FMIC also and replace my piping in for some nice aluminum piping. i hear their is some nice CF piping you can get now. i might look into that. way lighter and way better on cooling, cause you dont have the heat transfer, that you would with metal piping, and it will hold up to the boost.
