bp-t swap. pass emissions?

We'll my engine is on the verge of being ordered and one last problem has come to mind. Emissions... will it pass as stock? and what should it be tested as, im afraid the d00d with the stick will misjudge my car and thus make me fail and give my baby a bad name.

I will be runnnin my 92 mx with the Bp26 ecu. Any help would be MUCH appreciated.

I know a good emissions place by Kipling and Bloor, they are cheap too. Test it normally first to see if it will pass, if not tell them to test it as hot rod.

If it still fails then just bribe them, they look like the kind of place that will take a bribe.

i dont think you can bribe them cuz the computer automatically logs the stuff not them

yea ive heard of doing it under the carpet sorta speak too.
The engine im gettin come's with the ecu, and i have a 92 so the harness can be used.

Also does anyone know what some of the serial numbers on the engine parts would be to verify if its a gtx, gt-r, ect.

I'm pretty sure the GTR comes with a vj-23 turbo as opposed to the vj..11?

BP26 = 1.8L DOHC turbo GTX motor 176hp/172tq
BP5C = 1.8L DOHC turbo GTX motor 178hp/166tq
BPC8 = 1.8L DOHC turbo GTR motor 206hp/180tq

Where are you getting the motor from?

in a year and a bit there are no more emissions tests just a flat fee to keep your car on the road and a saftey

I know the tranny is useless to me, but they dont wanna sell them seperate

huh? why would that be. Your car needs to be emission tested from 3 years old all the way up until it is 20 years old here in ontario. That means the first mx3 qualifies not to be tested in the year 2012

trust me it is easy to scam and fake it, i knew a mechanic who used to do it at his shop, he got away with it for years but eventually word got around too much that he was doing that and he got caught
