MAF problem

Post by plusinfinit »

I replaced my driver side CV shaft today, everytyhing went fine. Car started drove nice, than i changed the oil in my trany (manual). I put all that stuff back and when i go ahead and start the car.... Car starts runs for 2-3 seconds and dies. I did test my MAF since it looked like a maf problem. MAF is fine. So i disconect the MAF again and start the car,the car runs now, i plug the MAF back, the car dies. I did thin 7 or8 time. It starts and runs without the MAF but as soonm as i plug in the MAF the car dies. If i start it with the MAF pluged in it will start and run only for 3-4 seconds.
Is there a shoer aor a bed connecrion somewhere in my MAF? MY car is 93 sohc, 5 speed.
Please help me, i am disperate and i am about to loose my hope in this wierd car.

I found the problem. After reading my check engine light i diconected the MAF, pulled down the cover of the conector that conects to the maf and found a broken wire right where that funny bend is. I believe i broke that wire while taking out thye batery.
I am so happy that i solved this problem.
