New Decals

Post by MX-3 Money »

I think there should be a couple different sytles of mx-3.com decals available. Plus I'd love to have some new GS oem style decals since mine look like crap now. And all us ZE guys need a decal to show what we got under the hood. Just a couple thoughts but I think it would be cool.

If I had the ZE I wouldnt wanna show it of, until some punk thought I had a slow Mx3, then he`d find out it was something totally different :)

ya i've seen the ones on ebay but i don't think they look that good. If some punk kid saw some klze badge on my car, he'd have no idea what it ment unless he knew about mx-3's, mx-6's or probes. its more for the other mx-3 owners to see what i got.

The only decals I want for my car is to put GSR instead of GS on the original location on the fenders after i get her painted, and have it say "2.5L" to the right of the stock v6 logo

We could make some rebadge decals:
GS and RS for those that want to put new originals on
GS-T and RS-T for turbo's stock
GSR and RSR for swapped
GSR-T and RSR-T for swapped and turbo's

it would be nice to have an unofficial standard naming scheme at the same time

ok, let me find some pics of the OEM badging so I can start to get the right font and put it together, should not take too long. I will post the proofs here and then send the files to whomever needs it to make their vinyl.

I have been looking and looking, I cannot come up with a font that matches the OEM MX-3 style. Does anyone know what the font is called or have it mac formated? In the meantime, I will keep working at it.

I can probably find a match for you.. but I cant get to it till monday.. I have about 5000 fonts here and a decent font matching software.. But I will need to get a decent redition of the MX-3 logo to start with. If I cant match it exactly.. I can usually get close enough that you cant tell it isnt the same font.

Nope.. PC guy all the way ;) But it wont matter too much.. I can save whatever I come across in a graphic format so that you can open in on a mac without a problem. Do me a favor and send me a PM monday to remind me about this so I can take a look and see what I can find out.

Well I spent 3 hours this morning going through all of our fonts.. and I dont have a direct match for the font used in the Mazda "MX-3" I can create a graphic that will match it perfectly though. But that probably wont help you make new badges or decals that will look OEM. To be honest I am a bit surprised I couldnt find a matching font. :? Let me know if there is anything I can do to help though.. :)

actually I am not too surprised, I have a feeling the font was created for Mazda and not publicly open and since it is pretty plain no one has thought of making a copy...I have something that is close, but not OEM, but will have to do. Will post tomorrow.
