Re: Black Altezzas with a orange turn signal
i think they all come w/ the clear turn signal... what u have to do is go to a hobby shop and look for amber spray in a can, and spray the clear to make it orange...
maybe some one correct me if i'm wrong, but i think that's the deal...

Something like that mark.
Money, I don't believe you will find them on ebay with an amber turn signal lense. I'm suspecting that you may have seen these on a few members rides on their sites. If you Pm them you may find that the individual may have separated the altezza's lense so as to tint the turn signal lense separately.

I believe you may have it reversed RoundTop:RoundTop wrote:For the turn sigs you go and buy a 1157 amber bulb. They are at 99% of auto shops. You put that in place of your 1157 clears.
note: rear lights are as follows: Brake: 1156 clear, rear: 1157 clear, turn: 1157 clear, 1157A (amber) for altezza.
The difference: 1156 is dual filament, 1157 is single.
For Altezza's;
Turn - 1156NA (amber) single filament.
Running/Brake - 1157 (clear) dual filament.
Reverse - 1156 (clear) single filament, although I've been using a 50watt replacement bulb for last 5 years (#28706), This bulb is compatible with 199, 1073, 1141, 1156, 3497, 7506 - I like to see where I'm going when I'm backing too...LOL, besides it's a bit of a bear with tinted rear window.

ya i know guys, i already said i could just put in a amber bulb. But I know they use to make them with amber turn signals. Guess the clears are more popular.

Like yourself, I too was looking for the ones with the amber corners, but after having called around a few places, it seems as though the general consensus is that nobody makes them with the amber corners anymore. That said, yes we all know you could just put an amber bulb into the socket but I really would like to have the amber lens in that corner port. I've checked out about 5 different hobby shops around town so far and none of them seem to have amber tint spray.MX-3 Money wrote:ya i know guys, i already said i could just put in a amber bulb. More to the point, I can't find even find anything close to this color in a spray can, just bottled stuff you put on with a brush. Anyway, the best I could find was this amber window staining paint that's just too thick and lumpy when it dries so I don't think I'll be using that, and then this small jar of Tamiya clear orange paint that's supposed to be used for model kits. The Tamiya paint goes on well and has a nice even surface to it when it dries, but it seems to be of a darker shade than the standard issue amber. If I use this, will it look ok and will it still be legal? Oh, and if anyone knows what this paint is really supposed to be called, please let me know. Every place I've walked into asking for "amber tint spray", the staff have been like "tint?". Yeah, as in see-through, not solid colored. Point being: clear amber paint has been ridiculously hard for me to find where I live. Does anyone know if clear yellow, or clear gold would produce the proper amber shade we're looking for???
