Hi everyone.. i'm new here I'm from the quebec club and i have a question about tickets in ontario

2 weeks ago i had a speeding ticket on highway 417 and I want to contest cause if i pay my ticket ill loose my license.. how much time does it take approximately when you want to contest a ticket because i will have my full driving license on june 13th so if contesting takes 2-3 months im ok!

for my LCD monitor ticket, it was about 3-4 month wait, ill get the exact wait it took for me when i go back to the apt tomorrow

book it and see. Some places give you a date on the spot. I've took a ticket to court before and saw some guy waited over a year he said that was far too long and it got dismissed. It all depends on the backup in the courts.

Mind you if you lose the date you got the ticket will be the offense date that shows on your record. I'm not sure about quebec laws but if you're in danger of losing you license because of this ticket the offense date may work against you even if it goes to court.

I would suggest going to a pretrial prosecutor as well. They're basically prosecutors that are there to hear a case before the trial date and you may get it dismissed then. They basically help out the courts instead of everything going to trial.

God I learn a lot doing the locks for the traffic courts
