What bov should I change to?

Post by Franko »

I was thinking of getting a new bov that has a different sound.. I like the hks ssqv (super sequential) that makes a shuttering sound. I have a friend who has a greddy but its a little too high pitched for me. Any of you guys have a sound clip of your bov's? I have a turbo xs on mine but I was thinking of getting something a little snazier.. Any thoughts?

I have the HKS SS and this thing is awesome. I have tons of friends with Turbo cars, they might be faster, but they all wish that their BOV sounded like mine.

ive heard a lot of BOV's in my day and I must agree the HKS SS is pretty sweet soundin'. I had the Greddy one on my Subie and it was real obnoxious(ear piercing high pitched) I'm glad I had a loud stereo in that car!

I have the HKS SSQV and love it. Another one you may want to consider is the Tial 50mm BLOV.

Yeah, thats the one my friend has. Man, this is a big decision here. If I get one I hate it will be terrible... I dont know what it is but alot of supras have it.. It sounds almost like a regular blow off valve but really agressive.. PSSSSSCHHHOOOO Well its hard to describe the sound but you probally know the one.. Is there any place to download bov sounds? Except blowoffvalves.com or whatever it is..

What bov did you decide to go with babyblueMX3?

When they put in my engine (Portland), they had installed a Turbo XS BOV and sent me pics, but I went to Import Wars in Wisconsin and there was a Turbo Prelude there and he had just put in the HKS SS and it was real nice. I called Corksport and told them to take out the Turbo XS BOV and replace it with the HKS. They were puzzled, but they went ahead and did it. Later that week I flew out there and picked up the car, they had a huge smile ans said, turn the car in and get on the gas...when we heard that BOV we were amazed, they said they were blown away after the install, they never had one sound like that.

My best friend has a Turbo Civic, and he had the Turbo XS on his car, he just switched it out for the Greddy and says now his car will sound like it has some ball next to mine. I have heard that they sound great but I have not heard it myself.

If you want I can give you my cell number and I can run my ride so you can hear it. It should be up and running today as a matter of fact.

the new Greddy type RS sounds bad @$$, iv got a greddy type R ready to go on and everyone tells me it will be loud. but rite now im running the stock Probe BOV, and its pretty loud. but you get more of a swoosh sound with it. i would either go with the greddy RS or the Turbo XS. either way its probably going to sound sweet.
