Hi, all, Can someone please help?
I am new to Mazdas but have recently acquired a MX-3 Presso V6 that idles like a bag of nails. I have discovered that the LAMDA Sensor has broken off the Cat and have been told that this is the problem. The car can be run without the Cat legally here in the UK but do I need to remap the ECU to sort this out. Any help would be appreciated. Rod

By now some may be the second, third and sometimes fourth owner of the same MX. At any rate, it's always advantageous when picking up a second-hand car to take it to a reliable mechanic to sort through all of the other non-safety inspection items. The likelihood that previous owners may have done a few "mods" is probably high and all the more reason to ensure it's performing/operating correctly via that inspection. I realize that for the majority acquiring an MX, it's just an economical (cheap) means of transportation and are not too concerned with it's overall fitness. This can and usually does lead to problems, grief and unnecessary extra expenses that could have been avoided. For a good majority, it's their first car purchase and it's probably a good idea to get the basics and fundamentals of car ownership on track and in the right direction. Best advice for any newcommer to MX-3.com is READ. Read all pertinent info wrt your specfic issues via a search of old posts. More than 90% of the time the noobs first questions have been asked and answered and solved by previous noobs in the past. Do your reading and research and follow up with those more insightfull questions after. Good luck, good reading and welcome.
