Just got my 1998 MX-3 RS last November.
It has acquired three names so far - two given by friends.
On account of it's shiny black (almost sinister) colour, I have dubbed my RS "Blackbird". The squat shape also conjures up memories of the famous Lockheed SR-71 Blackbird Aircraft - so it's a tribute to that great ship of the skies.
Also, have you ever taken a good look at the MX-3's snout?
Reminds me of a cartoon drawing of a "Blackbird". Think Looney Tunes and you'll get my drift.
The other two names are "Dark Angel" - after the delectable Jessica Alba who played a sassy genetically enhanced heroine on the same name tag, and er, follow me on this one, "J-Lo"!
Yup, an good friend of mine (a girl - NOT my girlfriend OK?) calls the MX-3 "J-Lo", on account of what she refers to as it's unmistakably sexy rump sticking out a mile.
By the way, the name Dark Angel came from another good friend (also a girl - er also just a friend, <blushes deeply>) who is hooked on the TV series (as I was).
So there you have it:
Blackbird
Dark Angel
J-Lo
I was thinking of calling it the Batmobile, but i'll leave that name for an MX-3 pilot with a V6 2.5i KZLE beasty on NOS, with flames coming out of the exhaust!!

Have only had my MX-3 for a couple of weeks now.. and even with the needed head work and needing new tires.. I have been calling it "Sweetness" And if any of you have ever owned or driven a 85 Subaru XT for any length of time.. Well.. the first words outta my mouth during my test drive were "Dear Lord.. Sweetness!" That having been said.. The gangly old subaru is still getting me to and from work while "Sweetness" is in the shop having her head rebuilt.

Thor?
Hmmm, Thundergod (also known as).
Also could be Thor the "Asgard" - Watch Stargate SG-1 for further details.
(Basically Alien Grey Dude, very intelligent, visited Earth in ancient times)
Had a penchant for watching humanity evolve and abducting us too!
Mjolnir - <Switches to Dr Daniel Jackson (Stargate SG-1) mode>
Hmmm, sounds suspiciously like the word "MOLNIYA" in Russian Language.
Meaning? Er, "LIGHTNING" I believe.
Nice name.

Well, it's old Norse, and the Vikings settled along the North Sea, so maybe the Russians got it from em? who knows

Some of these names are hillarious.
I call my 93ZE Screamin Seamen or The Egg, cause of it's color and shape. Both fit pretty well, the egg was more suited to the 1.8 though.

Due to the fact that I started adding aesthetic stuff to my ride to reflect my nostalgia for Transformers, I came up with the name TopSpeed. How I came to that decision is that after hours of trying to figure out what kanji characters I could combine to metaphorically spell a name that sounded Transformer-like, "the strongest speed machine" was the best I could come up with at the time.
I call mine the Evilyeti Mobile... started as an inside joke with my friends a very very very long time ago before i even had my MX-3 and they just started calling it that.. So i guess thats my cars nickname

Mine has 2 names depending on the situation at that moment.
"Yeah Babeee" when she's humming along well thru the twisties and all is right...
"BIAATCH!" for those opposite type situations... especially when doing maintenance and repairs and something that hasn't been removed in 10 years gets stubborn.
