UPDATE

I just added more pics. you can view them below:

http://groups.msn.com/PakfeiferTuning/s ... snw?Page=2

both page 2 and page 3 contain pics of the spoiler.

I would say it is about 90 % complete. We just need to smooth out the edges

I will be contacting those of you whom have ordered the spoiler by email in regards to payments.

There is more information in the group buy section.

It appears that one of the 4 GB members has backed down from his spot.

-ODDS (NORWAY)

Unfortunately this does not help me with the costs. Only 3 orders for CB spoilers isnt enough to cover all the expenses. Not even by a long shot!

As Freddie Mercury put it; The show must go on!

We are currently at the molding stage, This is the hardest part as the design for the spoiler calls for the use of a jig when creating the part. The mold will consist of at least 6 pieces. Not an easy task nor a cheap one at that.

As soon as I have some pictures of this process, I will post it up for all.

On a side note, For those GB members waiting on the actual bodykit. It appears that Cris Barros himself has fallen off the face of the earth, or maybe is lost in the Amazon. I have not seen him online, nor have I received an email response since 2004. For that reason, I have still not started this part of the buy.

I think we will have to resort to re-creating the design.

The side skirts dont look like they will pose any problems, but from what I have gathered, the front bumper was a custom design. I have been informed by a member on the board that the CB front bumper resembles an oem bumper. In this case, I will source out that particular oem bumper and graft it to our oem front.

I should be able to recreate the intended design. I will let everyone know once we have confirmed this.

If there is anyone interested in taking ODDS place in the buy, please let me know asap.

$460 CDN shipped anywhere in Canada or the U.S with a small mx-3.com decal. This price also includes a $10 donation to mx-3.com

Thanks

Dammit!

I received an email from Cris barros after not hearing anything from him since November! Unfortunately, it appears i have deleted it like a friggin moron!!

Basically he told me that he was very busy and could not send the kit over, and that for him to receive a wire transfer from me, involved to much "red tape". I suggested a Money order, but he was not keen on that idea...

So, in other words, no originals = no replicas.

On a different note, 2 members have backed out from the spoiler, and 1 has yet to send me the payment as promised 2 weeks ago.

For these reasons, the buy has been cancelled.

The prototype C.B spoiler will go to Matin Tocauer in Austria. I will not make any more unless 5 prepaid orders are received.

In terms of the bodykit: the sides and rear are not difficult to create, the front on the other hand is. According to Cris, it is an original design; Although, I have been informed the front is very similar to the Jspec Nissan 240 SX. but not sure.

If anyone has any comments, please feel free.

Thanks

FOUND IT!!!

Im including a brief history of our conversations since November 5, 2004:

Received February 1, 2005:

Hi Oscar...

I'm really sorry....unfortunately I don't think that I
can close this deal with you...I'm really busy, and
all this "burocracy" to receive the money from others
countries is making me sick...

And to be honest, the things around here are so
"unstable" that I'm afraid that something goes
wrong....and it would be PITA...

Fell free to reproduce the bumper...if you want some
better pics, just let me know...

Bye...and sorry again..

Cris

what would it take to recreate the rear bumper and sideskirts? How much money, how much time, how many people? Is it possible to create a new front bumper that would be similiar to the one in the picture, or a morphing from a mazda speed bumper?

aww man that front bumper was so amazing... tell us what we need to do to get the bumper into production... its so nice looking... not too big and flashy looking, not too aggressive--definitely a very classic design... tell us that front bumper is still a possibility!!!

Would I be wrong in saying that front bumper resembles that of the RX8?

Maybe I've missed this but, how was the original bumper made? Was it a completely custom design or was it made using an existing bumper? (from another car)

I did find this website that claims to make custom kits for only around $700 for the complete kit. The min order is 10 ppl but they say that they would have to have a sponsor car in California to make an original. Maybe we could check with them to see if it could be done.

I JUST REALLY WANT THAT FRONT BUMPER!

BTW...here's the link to the site if anyone wants to check it out or contact them...http://www.bodykits.org/
