was just wondering if anyof yuou have had this problem.
i recently broke the drivers side axle in my mx so i decided if im replaceing one ill replace both. i had to order the axles from NAPA they got me my axles over night which i was very happy about eccept for the fact that the drivers side<the one i really needed> wasnt the rite one.
so they ordered me another one which came in the next day but i was the same as the first wrong one they ordered me. they said it was a packing mistake but thats 2 now im not so sure im inclined to beleive it.
i was wondering if anyone had any insight on this situation.



in other words HELP ME!!

Not necessary to change both. In the last ten years I've replaced the left twice and the right once. Routine inspections, ie, during oil changes, check for the integrity of the axle boot. A chunking/grinding sound during turns would be your first audible signal of a deffective boot/axle.

there are differences between the axles on all the GS mx3's it seems.

There are 4 axle applications per side. w/o abs & MTX, w/abs %MTX, w/o abs & ATX or w/abs & ATX for bot hthe passenger and drivers side. On top of that, there are 4 axles per side for the 1.6 liter models.

So in all, there are 16 different axle applications, 8 per side, 8 per transmission type & 8 per engine type.

I had a problem w/my first axle not fitting that I bought, returned it and got another one w/out waiting. They gave me a farking 1.6 liter axle the first time b/c they are idiots.

well i got the axle thats matchs the part number so hopefully its the rite one and not one of the other 3 that it could be the passenger side was rite by the info i gave so im hopeing that it will be the rite type
