help surging

my car's idle starts surging between 600 1500 RPMs when I press the brakes, it will only surge when the engine gets to operating temp, when it's cold the idle is fine. can anyone tell me what might be wrong.

The MX-3 is notorious for having idle problems. You can find a ton of information by using the search feature of this site.
