i spoke too soon, i was just looking around and came upon a website that you might want to check out. it shows the parts that some miata owner needed when he converted his MX-5 from auto to manual. check out http://www.miata.net/garage/auto_2_5_speed.html I hope this helps.

the mx is alot harder than a miata.

you will need
MTX trans
clutch kit
pedal assembly (comes with clutch and break)
master cylnder resevoir
MTX motor mounts
and passenger side axel and half shaft.
if you want to do it rite you will need the wiring harness and ECU
it will run just fine with the ATX ECU if done rite
i have a MTX ECU if you need one for cheep.
you need the clutch slave and lines
and a lot of time it took me 2 days. but their is a saying poor man poor tools, im poor. so it takes a while.

Here is my list of what I purchased for the swap.

(Note: You will need the starter for the 5-speed as well)

You will need this handy little link when you think you have everything done:

We did mine back in September.

tranny needed

Post by mx3racer »

ok now i have a lil problem. the guy that i'm getting the engine from dont got a fw tranny he only got an awd tranny of an 323 gtx. i need a fwd hydralic tranny thats gonna fit my bpt. the engine is a 94 and to my knowledge so is the tranny. i'll trade for an 94 mx-3 5 speed tranny with $150 for the awd tranny or take $400 for it. local pick up only in florida. if anyone is interested email me at light_dragon_24@yahoo.com or post here. i will be checking up on this for the next couple of days.
