what size are the back speakers?
I have the stock speakers in the back and some new Sonys in the front. I want to get rid of the back speaker and get some better ones. what size should i buy to get a good fit and no modding. I would also like to know if it would be better just but a pair of 6x9s in the side instead of ****ing with a lamo speaker.

Re: what size are the back speakers?
if you want to put in 6x9s there is going to take a lot of custome work. i know u get good base from them but just stick with a pair of 5.25 or 6.5 in the back the work aint as herd. i dont like sony but make sure u stay with sony to keep the sound in ter car the same. dont mix and match speekers.

6x9s dont take alot of custom work, all you do is cut the bar going through the middle of the speaker area and thats it, the 6x9 goes right in no problem. Takes roughly 3 minutes per speaker.

Re: what size are the back speakers?
Im curious on what you mean by this, how do fit a 6"x9" speaker into a hole thats 6.5" across?
Re: what size are the back speakers?
Mine were 6.5"
I replaced them with CDT Audio CL-6X
A great rear fill speaker.

Re: what size are the back speakers?
I'll put a pic on here of my 6x9s in the back. Its really easy to do regardless of what these other people are trying to say. They say you can't do it but none of them have tried either.

Re: what size are the back speakers?
Are you guys sure the stock rear speakers are 5.25"? I just tried to replace mine today and the 5/25-inchers I had were a little small. I think maybe a 6.5" will be better. But here's a question for all those with 6X9's: Are you guys mounting the speaker the chassis or the plastic pods? Oh and BTW, will I need an amp to drive 6.5's or 6X9's? Thanks.

Re: what size are the back speakers?
i have 2 Pressos, the first one had a speaker box which ran from the seatbelt to the hatch, with plenty of room 4 some 6x9's, my new car's speaker box was only 1/3 of the size, not enough room 4 my 6x9's. I guess what i'm saying is that there are two speaker box designs (at least)

Re: what size are the back speakers?
Well i didnt want to put a 6x9 in the stock hole. I was wanting to put some 6x9s on that flap that comes up when you open up the hatch. It would be cool tho.

Re: what size are the back speakers?
What? not on the cardboard parcel tray surely! Either make a new one outta something stronger or use your standard speaker boxes. The OEM parcel tray is crappy and expensive to replace
