CF hood GB

Have you recently been in a transaction with someone on this UBB? (Buy/Sell/Trade forum, or maybe a Group Buy) Would you like to give them positive or negative feedback on how the transaction went? Post here to help make transactions on the MX-3.com UBB smooth ones.

CF hood GB

Post by FroSTeD »

I don't know if I'm the only one wondering if they are going to be shipped soon but I think it's taking too much time. I've been told at first that the hoods would be shipped in the end of March. We're now at the end of May and I don't even know if someone got one of them yet.

I know it has nothing to do with the organisator of the group buy but maybe we can give some pressure on Pakfeifer Canada so they can hurry up or something?

Getting updates once in a month is not really usefull. Do they expect any shipping date? I don't want to get my hood at the end of the summer while I sent money for it at the beginning of the year, in January. :) Thank you.

I am also waiting for the cf inverted hood which will complete my new paint job and fx designs body kit/erebuni spoiler. I am aware that when things get rushed mistakes happen. I have no idea what kind of planning and craftsmanship goes into making carbon fiber parts? and hope the hoods are not rushed although I cant wait to get my hood on mx3.

Marlon, I was just checking out the group buy forum and you were fourth in line for the oem hood. Do you know about the other three before you if they were happy with their hoods? Also, Frosted is right, not enouph updates on the group buy, since 4 people recieved hoods it should say (hood recieved) next to their name that way the rest of us know some progress is being made. Updates make the already long wait a little easier!

Been waiting almost a year for my inverted cf hood and was excited to get it today until I opened up the box and it was cracked underneath on the skeleton side. That sucks! Huge let down from Pakfeifer after such a long wait I expected perfection or close to perfection. the pic of the dammage is on my cardomain page. I dont know why I am telling everyone, just pissed of at pakfeifer. Maybe they will exchange the hood for a good one but I doubt it. Oscar is on holidays so I'll have to wait and see.

Ouch, that's a nasty crack.

I'm sure all issues will be dealt with properly and professionally. I've dealt with Oscar in the past (not with a problem mind you) and he was really easy to deal with, so hopefully he'll be just as good dealing with problems. Stuff like this happens, and having worked in customer service in the past, I know first hand you'll get further by keeping your cool on the situation. And just fyi there was an issue with my hood as well, but I'm sure it'll be dealt with properly. So just keep cool and see how things pan out.

THanx for the reply, I was a little pissed off at first because of waiting so long, I was excited to get it and it was a let down when I opened it and it was broken. I thought about it though and am thinking that maybe greyhound courier express dammaged it during shipping? there wasnt a fragile sign on the box so they could have thrown something on it? It is a nasty crack that I dont think pakfeifer could have missed while packaging the hood. If so I dont know if pakfeifer had any insurance with the shipping of the hoods?

it's more than likely that. I know when I picked mine up the end that was marked "this end up" was pointed right at the ground, so they weren't being the most careful with them I figure. Plus the guy told me because of the width of the box that it was probably a really tight fit getting it onto the busses.... ah well, we'll wait and see what happens.

A couple more pics, not the best worksmanship. I've seen these inverted hoods on other cars with no flaws. The hood still looks good but flawed.

That's not good news!

I didn't received the hood yet. Am I the only one or there's still people who have not received it yet?
