Fluid leak price question
ok i traced my tranny fluid leak to the pump seal on the back of the tranny. Problem is i cant find a shop that has the part so i can do it myself. Anyone had this repaired professionally before? What price should i expect? Thx in advance.

Re: Fluid leak price question
Hey Shaun, is it just the pump seal, and not the pumpas well? If it's just the seal/ gasket, whatever?... Did you try Mazda? Something like that, to get repaired, I can't see being any more than $300-$350US max. parts&labour. But then again I'm just guessing?

Re: Fluid leak price question
thanks steve. It appears to be just the seal. Havent taken it to mazda, but my personal mech noted that the transimission though 2 years old looks and shifts like a new one. I'm stickin with an auto as long as it holds

Re: Fluid leak price question
That a good Idea Shaun, though people put down the MX-3 tranny alot, they have to remember, as long as they're not beating in it, it lasts pretty long for an import, 120,000miles-190,000kms avg isn't bad. I heard that Chrysler keeps their spare trannies, for the Intrepid, on the shelf?
