brakes advice

Post by Devlin »

Hopefully i'll b able to upgrade my brakes w/ my xmas bonus (provided i get one), so i was wondering if anyone knew a good place to get them done (or if anyone wanted to make a few bucks and help).
Need braided lines, cross drilled rotors, actual good pads, and if possible multi-piston calipers would b good too. Anyone know how much $$ i'm looking at for parts & install?
Installation within the GTA (though for a really good deal, i'm willing to drive)

Ian, As you might remember I just upgraded my brakes with Brembros and ceramic pads from Pat (streetImports) Pat was a great guy to deal with and I'll give props up to him. As for the Brembros, I dont care much for them (quality is les then I expected) Pads are awsome but $150 a set.
Ill offer my services in giving you a hand to install since Im Un-employeed this month (merry Xmas) Have fun shopping.

I got a set of Cross-drilled rotors from a place in Port Colburne for $130. I only got normal pads, and they work really well, and they cost me like 30 bucks I think :) And as far as I know you can get the brake lines from Corksport.

I got my brakes from ctamotorsports.com.

The mx-3 uses the same brake system as the ZX2, I bought Ractive cross drilled rotors with KVR Carbon Fiber pads. Brake feel was much better then factory and was much more predictable.

CTA is located in the GTA area I beleive. They deal with Brembo,KVR,Raybestos,Ractive..etc..

In the spring I am selling My Ractive rotors and going with KVR, since I need to replace the pads anyway.

I have Hawk Pads and reactive x-drilled and slotted rotors and are awesome! I got them pretty cheap @ automotive wearhouse. I'm also looking at getting a set of dual piston calipers. Though I need to talk to my buddy with the protege to see if he'll give me his to see whether or not they fit. I installed my pads and rotors myself if u want someone to help u do it I will be more then happy to help.
