Tinting...

hi everyone.
i was just curious about a couple things. first, whats the law on the max tint percentage here in ontario?

and second, does anyone know a good place for me to take my car in for tinting? i'd rather give one of your friends business rather than drop by some crap tinting shop...

Law is 20%, but there are a few cities with by-laws that are 40%

I suggest you try searching for "tint", with time set for one month and see what you find.

As for a decent tint shop, Xtreme Auto Tinting on Keele St did mine. They'v got different grades as low as a $90 install, but I went with the lifetime warrenty one (never to bubble or fade) for about $250.

And they even suggest a tint level depending on the shade of your int. I havn't been bothered by the cops yet about mine.

any large name tint shop will do life time warrenty, Tint King did mine 5 years ago and still no bubbles.

Hold up with the regulation. I just got my job done and I was talking to a buddy of mine (cop buddy) He was telling me that the regulation states 15 and over can be considered to dark. However no cop is going to know the difference between 15 and let pull a ridiculous number like 14.9. So you shouldnt have a problem if you put 15% on your windows but anything more the ******* pigs are allowed to ask you to take it off. Or in one case they cut a headsize hole out of both door tints.
But saying this, I dont know if you`ve ever had it before but I got 15% and i find its dark enough. And often the rear window is to dark at night. But ya. Anything 15 and up you can technically get busted for but you really shouldnt have a problem untill you get 20 or higher.

i got mine tinted about a month ago. i got 15% on the sides, and 5% on the back and sunstrip. its really dark considering i have a black mx-3 with a black/dark red interior. i haven't had any cop problems so far and i doubt they really care unless you are doing something to piss them off.

can people post pics of their tinting? i want to get an idea of how dark/what type i would want to do mine...

Why would you risk getting something like 14%? Do you really was rish pulling all of your tint off for a measly 1%?

I could have sworn that the law was 20%. I know a guy that got 18% tint...if the law is 20% like me and him think/though, is it really worth it for 2%, are you gonna really notice a difference?
