Desperately need a hood!
Desperately need a hood!
I'm looking for a good clean used hood. I have checked all of the wrecking yards in my area and just can't seem to find one. I have to cut out a hole to clear the intake that's on the GTX motor we recently installed. So I figured there was no point in buying a brand new one since it's going to get cut. If anyone knows of one near my area I would greatly appreciate it.
Thanks, Racer X
------------------
93' MX3 turbo
My street legal racer
00'ZX2 S/R
Track tested

Hey sorry this is off your topic, but have you ran your mx-3 with that new engine, I have been thinking about the same swap. Give me some details.
------------------
Clear White RS
Custom intake
Custom exhaust
Tell you more later!

Re: Desperately need a hood!
Hey Brady I have run the car but not at the drag strip. I have run it at the road course I work at in Texas. It's a 1.7 mile track and the little car does pretty good with the extra power. I've still got some things to sort out to get her up to 100%. The distributor that came with the motor does not work at all so I had to run the 1.6 sohc distributor until I get the other one fixed. The motor I installed is a Japanese spec GTX motor from CorkSport. I've also still got to work out the intercooler placement, I'll probably be running an Eclipse model since space is limited. Other than that the install wasn't that difficult really, everything bolted up and I still even have my A/C. The prob with the hood is I left my brother alone with the air saw and he got a little carried away, I mean it looks neat but it's a prob in the rain. Talk to you later.
Racer X

Re: Desperately need a hood!
i got a hood..how much are you willing to spend???

Re: Desperately need a hood!
Well I thought I had one when I called a local wrecking yard that said they had one. The guy on the phone quoted me a price of $150 for a clean hood. The only prob was that when I said I wanted it he paused and then came back and said the price was right but the hood was already gone. So somewhere close to that would be great. Where are you located at? In case of shipping. Thanks
Racer X
