Best Auto Insurance companies in Ontario?

Post by Sean Mandell »

I need a new policy but the premiums are crazy high now for no reason. Is there any cheap insurance companies left out there?

Wawanessa has good rates, but you cant have ANY tickets or "at fault" accedents, I have 2 tickets so they wont take me, 2 years ago I was paying 1300 a year for full coverage on my 1995 MX-3 GS but I had just turned 25 so the rates were good.

now the cheapest I could find is 1800 a year. when that 1 ticket comes off in a month Im going bak to wawanessa.

you have to go through a broker, they dont deal directly with the public.

P.S. when I had my 86 Feiro GT I was paying 700 a year with only 500,000 liabilty, no other coverage, Now that was a low rate :D
DONT SHIP WITH UPS!!! DIE UPS DIE!!!!!

best way is to call up different broker, dealing with every single company is an endless and painful thing. I suggest askin family and friends about their brokers or checking www.insurancehotline.ca, i got my first company through them and it wasnt actually so bad.
One thing to remember when callin up and buying insurance, DO NOT LIE TO THEM, I worked as an assistant for holman insurance brokers in richmondhill and that was one thing that gets your insurance policy cancelled; always remember that they werent born yesterday, they will check your record and keep in mind that everysingle thing is being recorded, so get an abstract record and use it when you apply.
I wish you luck finding a cheap one though, im paying 170 a month and thats cuz i changed my address to my aunt's house which is in Ancaster. ON (yes, you dont know where it is and thats the point)

i know where ancaster lives. i live 10 minutes away from there.

i used insurancehotline, but they gave me 1 quote at the good price and the other 2 quotes weren't good at all. i called the broker and they said they weren't taking any more clients... wasted my money.

ya Wawanessa is really good but if you have any at faults you are screwed..just like me..I used to pay 180 on my Mx and now I am paying 480 cause of ONE accident...so they are brutal if you have any at faults and stuff.
