Windsheild film

Post by Ion1_15 »

I have notice that evey now and then that a thin layer of film form on my windsheild from the interior. I was woundering if there is any thing I can do to prevent this from happaning. I've heard that the film was caused by chemicals being released from the dash board when it gets hot. Any solutions?

Do you smoke in your car ? I do, and have noticed the same thing, except it's just the chemicals from the cigarette sticking to the window. Nothing Windex won't cure. Hope I helped.

I can only guess that the film build up your mentioning is a result of condensation {your breathing or from the environment} mixed in w/ the soot from a contaminated enviro. which is prevalent in any town nowadays. Hope this answers your question.<p>[This message has been edited by mendel00985 (edited August 26, 2001).]

Got a better answer then all those. It's most likely from your armor all wax that you use inside the car on your vinyl...or any other thing you use on your vinyl products. The sun beats down on the vinyl dash and the sun heats up the vinyl protectant and that is your film you are talking about.<P>Just use TURTLE WAX VINYL PROTECTANT<BR>It's better than armor all because armor all eats up the vinly =(<P>Hope this helps.<BR>Chris<P>------------------<BR>Mazda MX-3, Black, Automatic, 1994 I4
