launching with auto

Post by Casino »

ok well the team im with is heading to the track once again this weekend.

im going to try to run this will be my first time running ive been there enough though.

ok ive got an auto but dont really know how to lauchn it. i tried neutral dropping and the car just boggs down and doesnt move, also tried brake tourqing with almost the same result.

i think i could push the thing outa the hole faster ! lol i hate autos so much this is really my only problem. i dont want to go and suck *** outa the whole cause my run will be really ****ty. but i doubt theres really anything esle i can do short of a swap  :driver:

well in my car when it was an auto with just a muffler on the back i ran a 19 sec flat 1/4. impressive. the best thing i found is to start out with like 1/4 throttel then gradually put the peddel to the floor. thats the only way i could get a decent launch. or put it in nutral push in the hold and rap it out to like 4K and drop it into low. only if the trans is going out and you have a replacement would i recomend this. works though.

with my j spec dohc and the head ported and free flow exaust and my performance cams, and custom cold air intake, i was hitting low 18's to high 17'. i could beat civics all day long if we were rolling down the road at 20 to 30mph. then you just punch it and it would kick into first and off i would go.

ya thats what i was thinking why im our cars does it bogg down like that during a neatrul drop i was doing it in my buddies stang and i got a nice burn out as a a result.

I have nitrous and its controlled by throttle or if i want i can buttton press and inject it. i was thinking maybe right outa the whole after my rpms get to like 4-5 use it, but im not sure

if you want your transmission to last at all , NEVER neutral drop. Mazda trannys are known to be crap as it is...

yah a stall converter is the only real way. unless you put on a good power gain. but like what was said the trannies arnt strong at all. after i put the turbo on i blew all the clutches out in less than two blocks. its not good to use NOS off the line like that.
