if it was online and the guy wrote the owner/operator of mx-3.com and asked to take it down i think thats fair and there's no reason to put it back up without the copyright holders express written permission.

I guess thats the rub. Is he the owner? Did this bloke only say it so he can sell the CDs? Does anyone care?

But having been asked to remove it, I wouldn't put it back on this site without permission. But I WOULD put it on another site and see if the request is made again. ;)

I emailed Mazda and gave a link to this thread. Hope they come and respond here.
Here is my email to them>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

Thank you for your prompt response.

you say>>>>
The Workshop Manual you are looking for can be purchased from the Parts
Department of your local, authorized Mazda dealership. Mazda does not
sell any parts, including publications, directly from the factory.
Please understand due to space limitations, we do not stock an extra
supply of Workshop Manuals in our office.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
I SAY>>>>Please go to this site and read this thread about the workshop manual.

1, The issue is if we, the mx-3.com non profit club, can post the
workshop onlline so members can access it. ie no copyright issues?
please post your reponse on that thread so all members can read it

2. I think the mod already has the workshop manual but if not, would
you donate one to the club if we can legally post it online?

Well i got a response but BAD NEWS. You were right Grants!!
Here is a copy of the email I got:
===========================================
Hi! In regards to your e-mail, I checked with our Corporate Technical Contact who advised, because of copyright laws, Mazda Workshop Manuals
can not be posted on independent website.

I did however go to the website and loved it! It is a plethora of information for MX-3 owners and is very thorough. I hope the website manager continues to get donations and sponsors to keep it running!

If you would still like to purchase one you may do so from your local authorized Mazda dealership. You may locate a dealership in your area
by visiting www.mazdausa.com/dealers/default.asp.
Best Regards,

So Grants your right, sori Gro

can anyone get written permission to post it or is it BT/emule?

"Whats funnier is some tardnut (i'm sure the same a-hole who contacted jeff) contacted those forums about their "copyright infringement" they ignored him and nothing has happened."

did anyone check out this guys creds ,he could of been just some meathead from say a honda or evin worse ... a dogde group, just being a knob , not that there is any of those out there.

also if I get a copy its going so upload it aint gonna be funni. the men in black are gonna get me first so I aint worried about jimmi wipplemen an his copyright badge, china breaks about 1000 copyrights an patent laws every week. Send Hu Jintao a complaint. LOL
