Re: PICS from CARLISLE ARE HERE!!!!!
hey everybody, I had a grat time at carlisle this year!...met some new people, but i was also surprised at how few mx3ers actually showed up. That burnout contest was cool, seeing that civic pop both tires, lose his front bumper and shoot flames out the exhaust ...ok, talk to you all later

Re: PICS from CARLISLE ARE HERE!!!!!
Yeah....almost all of my 2 rolls of film will be of MX-3's so that should make up for Vlad's pics . Kit (sorry..I can't remember your name for the life of me), I really hope that picture comes out because it was a real photo opportunity at the time. Did any mx-3's get any awards this year?

Plane tickets are too expensive, RS has too many miles to put another 2000 miles for a roadtrip. My GS wasnt ready, plans changed after I got a sponsor. Car wont be ready till next year... to many projects.

I'm sure Tom will post his pics soon.
By now, he's probably in New Jersey somewhere.
I didn't take any pictures myself, but here is one you might enjoy. I know I did:

I got a video of the fight that broke out during the burnout competition. It was on the left side of the stands (closer to the entrance "gates).
I'll have my pics and vids online later tonight most likely.

Re: PICS from CARLISLE ARE HERE!!!!!
The reason they got so upset is because the town usually keeps to themselves and hosts these shows for attention. Muscle car and Hot Rod shows aren't so much of a bother because everyone is civilized and have a bit more respect for eachother and the town.
You throw a handful of brand loyal import owners in a small room and someone is going to bleed. The same thing is bound to happen when you put several thousand together in a confined area. It's no longer about the cars, respect, or pride of hard work to some people. It's all about brand advertisement, show, ribbons, and saying you were there.
Also, look at all the police officers from surrounding districts that had to come keep patrol and perform raids and busts. Can anyone guess how much that costs the township and county in taxes to pay for those services?
Re: PICS from CARLISLE ARE HERE!!!!!
I'm merely stating my thoughts on why they want to cancel the show for next year.
I'm sure that the York Fairgrounds will pick it up though . Plenty of Hotels and Motels along route 30. Though I can only image how congested the city streets will get. Oy, a couple hundred people go out on the weekends and traffic is bumper to bumper, barely moving.

Re: PICS from CARLISLE ARE HERE!!!!!
screw how much it cost! 40,000 people is a LOT of people. What did they expect? no problems?
Their other carshows aren't even 1/10th as big as this one, What the hell did they expect when they invited people from 16-24 years of age to the event?
Go to nopi...they have 4 cops every block of town during that event. Never really gets out of hand b/c people know the police are right there, and won't start doing illegal stuff
At my motel, it took almost a half hour for police to respond to constant burnouts, and chicks flashing themselves and someone even got in a fight!! The police were INADEQUATE.
They were pulling people over for NO reason, circling their car and writing up BS stuff like "no reflector on side of altezza lights". I know someone who got a ticket like this, and he was driving normally, abiding by the traffic laws!!
The a--hole police were worthless this past weekend. They should've been prepared, and they should've stopped emphasizing their policing on traffic tickets for stupid bullsh!t and started addressing the motel situations.
[ May 05, 2003: Message edited by: Gro Harlem ]
