upper mounts

Post by johnnyb »

I have my pickings at a ZX2 this weekend and am going to take the upper mounts. Unfortunately the struts are gone. My question is will any year escort zx2 upper mounts fit the mx3. I mean will 98 zx2 mounts fit the holes on the mx3 or not? or did they change them after?

The ZX-2 struts wont just fit.

You have to dremel or drill out the spring perch on the MX-3 to accept the ZX-2s larger bearing.

If you can find them, you can also just get the ZX-2 spring perches - but why spend all that money when you can use the MX-3 one with a little modification?

You're going to need the ZX-3 bearing though. The MX-3's hole is too small.

well the guy only asked if the upper strut MOUNT would fit, not the strut its self. as he stated the struts were already taken and the only thing left was the upper mounts.

Aiden didnt even answer the question, nowhere in his reply did he say thet the upper mount would fit, he just told the guy that the STRUT wont bolt into an MX-3, he then told the guy that he would need spring perches or and a ZX-2 bearing or he could use a dremmel on the MX-3 spring pearch in order for the struts bearing and shaft to fit.

Thats why I said Hrrmmm..? I didnt under stand why he would type that since the guy didnt ask how to make the struts work.

nope your still wrong, he didnt ask about spring perches either , just the strut mounts, and the strut mounts dont have to be altered in any way for the ZX-2 S/R conversion, I should know Iv done the complete install on 2 different cars.

so again ??? why bring up the spring perches and other stuff like that, It was a simple question, do the ZX2 mounts fit an MX-3, the answer is yes, you still havent answered that origonal and only question.

I never called you any names, I just said you should read the post more carefully.
"Hrrrmmm.....somebody needs to learn to read first and type second."

the correct response is " ooppss, sorry your right, the answer is yes the mounts will fit on a mx-3 :D "

Its not my fault your mother didnt love you and your father sexually abused you due to his latent homosexual desires, so dont bring that stuff in here, just be cool, if some one points out you were wrong , just accept it and learn from the mistake.

Curt I need new upper mounts cause mine are shot and since i can get them for free i was wondering if they would fit.

And Aiden thanks for the information I am not quite ready to do the zx2 conversion as winter is coming and I have to start my christmas shopping. I will keep that in mind when I do the conversion next year.

I've always considered the perches a mount. I guess you are talking about the piece with the four bolts in it, right?

Interesting how you assume you actually know me or my parents. If you did, you wouldn't be saying that because you would know I hate my parents; and not for those reasons.

well the spring perch is what the spring sits on and the strut mount is what mounts the strut to the car. they are pritty self explanitory. so clearly you were wrog, either because you dont know that much or you didnt read the post properly and your trying to cover mistake.

jeezz man you not to bright are you?, the diss was , that you hate your parents and so you act out by insulting people and acting like a know it all, so what is your snappy retort?, "well your wrong cause I do hate my parents"??? you just confermed the whole point of my insult.

get your self in to a therpy group for sexual abuse survivors, read posts more carefully, and if you dont know what your talking about then dont answer posts.

P.S. you sill havent admited you were wrong, whats up with that? like I said, issues man.
