Welp.. i totaled my MX-3 today... :(

Post by Kazik16 »

well, i totaled it, and believe me, it's totaled. im gonna put some pictures on here after i get em taken, heres the low-down: I was drivin with a buddy to get a video game, we were drivin down a road i've taken i dunno how many times, i was going thru a curve, i turned my head a split second to spit out the window i looked up and my right tires where goin on the dirt, so i slowly eased it back over, it hit a patch of gravel which made me over-correct, the car jerked back the other way, then we fishtaled i think 2 times, on the second time we went completely sideways (i think we were going about 45 at that point) slid down into a ditch, i look out my window and saw a 2 foot culvert coming towards us quick, i was like "oh Jesus" my friend said he was thinking "by terry" in his head when he saw it, we hit it, it hit right behind the driver side tire, when we hit that it stopped the momentum of the front, throwin the back end over the front, we went end over end after we hit the culvert 1 and a half times landing on the roof, we landed in a church parking lot we landed on guard rails (ones you park on, 2" pip welded and stuck in the ground) which caved in the a-pillar in 6 inches from my head, to tell you how close it was, it was about | | that close from hitting the stearing wheel, then that was the end of the ride... i look over to my buddy ryan and he was already halfway out thinking the car was gonna blow (he just got in a bad gasoline fire about a month before, 3rd degree burns), anyways, so i look at my side and i have about a 6 inch opening on my window, so i crawl out the passenger side window, we get out and i look at em and i said "aside from my car being totaled, that was freaking awesome!"

well.. neither of us are hurt, me, surprisingly i have no injuries whatsoever, and the guard rail and culvert hit on my side and not sore whatsoever either, my friend has some glass cuts, but other than that he's fine too, it's by the grace of God that we're not dead...

ill get pictures of the car, it looks freaking wicked tore up guys, no joke... but what has this story taught us? ... Don't spit out the Window... swallow :D

RIP: one more died, may the rest live long lives

Bad news dood. Well it's good to hear everyone was alright. Surprizingly in my accident I sustained no injury either! I was going around a corner and a bad hill at the same time (dead mans curve they call it) I did almost the same thing as you (not knowing just how bad the hill was) and started fish-tailing, about two times. She spun around (about 70km at this point) and she grabbed a few guard rails and those dang wires too. Those wires actually saved my life! It banged her up pretty good, although the pics on my site don't show too much detail.
But like I said...no injuries! ANd I thought our cars were Bad for safety! None the lesss, it's good to hear everyones alright...ironically you landed in a church parking lot ;)

Don't confuse our cars with hondas or north american junk. Ours are built to take a hit or two.

I slid on ice and clipped a parked car with my right front bumper... damaged the bumper, headlight, side panel a bit.... but the frame was perfect still. The point is that of all the stories here I see about rolling or flipping MX-3s it seems to always work out well.

Sure you don't want to be driven over by an SUV, but our cars aren't tin cans like a Neon or plastic death-traps like a civic.

You poor poor man.. what a terrible loss.
At least you werent too far into doing it up. If I wrecked my car now I think that I would just give up on life.. It would be the end of all things I am sure.
A strange thing that I have learned in the past is that the old saying "everything happens for a reason" proves to be true more often than not. Although it may seem bad right now, later on down the road I am sure that you will be like "wow if that never happened then I wouldent be where I am now"

It is nuts how it happens man. Like 10 years ago my mom died of cancer, it was a horrible thing that happened and at the time I was basically positive that I would never recover. Now, I couldent even imagine what things would be like if she hadent gotten sick. I would still be living in british columbia doing god knows what kind of horrible things instead of the awesome situation that I am in now.. Living in a great place, got awesome friends, a wonderful girlfriend and my beautiful mx-3. Yep I am doin allright, I have never even taken a sip of liquor or anything, and if I was back in B.C. I doubt it very much that I would be in the situation that I am now. I would be a poor homeless drunk. :D

yea, having a sporty lil go-kart car isn't the best thing for me right now anyways, my next CAR i will get is prolly gonna be a 98 camaro, but i turn 18 in about 2 weeks (what a birthday present huh?) and i plan on geting a loan and buying a truck, and start to work for my friend's that have performance shops, everything does happen for a reason, and i know that only good is gonna come out of this, i should get a few hundred for the engine and tranny (virtually un-touched durring the wreck), but anyways, thanks guys
