Dropzone for the mx-3?? Since when??
Dropzone for the mx-3?? Since when??
I was under the impression that dropzone didnt make coilovers for the mx-3..i saw some on ebay and i emailed the guy, he said they have been makin them for over 8 months. Is this true or is this an escort experiment gone wrong, and hes tryin to get em off his hands????

Re: Dropzone for the mx-3?? Since when??
part numbers for mx-3 and escort coilovers are the same at most companies who make them for those two cars. Even grouncontrols part numbers for the mx-3 and 91-96 escort are the exact same. So most likely they are escort coilovers, and mx3 coilovers. I heared vaughn say that the rear springs are a little longer and will raise the back of the mx3 some, but when you have 4 inches of drop availible it does really matter. I got dropzone coilovers sitting right next to me, and somone has already installed them, so good luck

EBUCKS, what struts do you use with your coilovers? How is your ride in terms of comfort/alignment/tire wear/etc.

Re: Dropzone for the mx-3?? Since when??
After having them for only 5 months I haven't noticed much tire wear. That in part is due to changing my rims after 2 months of getting them. My alignment is fine for now. There was a bit of camber when I had it slammed but again after 2 months, I raised it.
In terms of comfort, these springs are too stiff. However, I love the ride. Try going across the Gardiner Expressway at 150 km/h. There are severe dips in the road that make the car catch air
not really but it feels like it. Let's just say that my head has hit the roof a couple of times.
I'm using KYB GR2's. I'm told that they will not handle the stiff springs.
Can you get those springs in a lower springs rate?
one

Re: Dropzone for the mx-3?? Since when??
OH ok so now that i know the escort and mx3 coilovers are the same...ive read numerous times that the spring rate is too high. SO they are stiff huh??? I wanna lower my GS but i dont wanna be bumpin all over the place like i did on my RS. I cut those springs...i know people are going to talk ISH but its not cuz im a poor ricer...i actually bought the Intrax springs and when i installed them, nobody said it looked any different. The ride was just about the same, and i was totally dissatisfied. SO, i figured what the heck ill try cuttin my stock ones..so i did, and was much more satisfied with it. If you live somewhere where there are decent roads its not bad, but if u forget about a speedbump or something then ur gonna go flyin...the handling was excellent, i was rallying against my foster dads s-10 through arizona mountains and i was keeping up with him, and he has a full suspension upgrade and 165 HP and over 200 FT lbs of torque. We were above 90 miles an hour...so dont let anyone tell you that cutting your springs is "dangerous", because its not if done properly...people keep the comments about dropzone comin, i want to know more about them...
