question about springs i purchased

Post by marshmallow15 »

i just got a set of sprint springs for a 90-94 protege lx (for $129 including shipping from ebay so its worth a try to end all those questions)...before i install, is there anything i should be modifying to my oe struts or anything or is it the basic procedure? also will i expect a 1.8" drop as advertised or a little bit less? the weight of the mx-3 and 90-94 pro lx should be the same because most have the same motors right?

nice springs. are they lowering or performance? 90-94 springs should fit without mods to the stock damper.

Where did you get those springs for that price?
Was it a private or commercial seller?
Are there more available?
I've been searching ebay for springs for a long time now.
Who say's you can't teach an old dog new tricks?

haha am i ever...so i guess the escort springs are out of the question. I think its only the escort coilovers that fit perhaps? They are being sold to an escort owner anyway so its all good. If the protege springs work out i'll pick them up...if not i'll get some intrax springs in the spring.

I got some Suspension Techniques made for the Protege that are suppose to drop it 1.5" instead of 1.3" for the MX-3. They don't look like they are going to settle very low at all. But, they do fit.
