cool suspension idea

Post by Steeb »

i dont know how much it would cost but i thought i would be cool to have a camber kit with mounting holes for a bar. kinda like a camber kit strut tower bar in one. just a thought... if srd made something like that for front and rear id definately be willing to save up some big bucks to buy em seeing as all of the parts are very affordable and good quality

the problem with top mounted camber plates is that the plates have to move in order to change alignment. Something that moves probably isnt the best place to try to mount a structural support.

i was thinking since camber plates are 2 seperate pieces. the plate that mounts to the chassis from inside the wheel well should be designed to be mounted inside the engine bay upside down (so the bolts are tightened from the wheel well) and the other piece that mounts to the strut or shock mounted from underneath the upside down plate. coilovers would help in this situation since obviously you would need to raise the car. you'd also be getting at least an inch more travel in the front suspension. oh yah the brace should attach to the same place as stock but inbetween the camber mounting plate and the chassis. kinda sandwiched i guess. ground control makes a camber kit for our cars, never seen them myself, it should look like this one below (for reasons scroll up.)
ground control camber kit for volkswagon a1,a2,a3 etc
Image
cusco camber plate for mx3
Image
