17" Wheels and Springs
What modifications am I going to have to do to make 17x7 inch wheels with 205/40HR/17 tires fit on my MX-3???
I have stock springs and struts as of now.
I rotated my wheels today and I noticed that the bottom of the spring plate (or whatever it's called where the spring sits) isn't that far from my 15" wheels and tires.
Are my 17s going to hit that spring plate???
Thanks.
~A

Re: 17" Wheels and Springs
Thanks a lot. Just thought I'd better be safe than sorry, since my new wheels cost me the money I would use to fix an error.
Thanks again.
~A

Re: 17" Wheels and Springs
This "spring plate" that you speak of holds the bottom of the spring. As your spings contract this harness does not change it's distance in relation to your wheels.
The question that you need to ask is whether your tires will rub at your maximum turn angle. Then you would be concerned with your rim offset.
one

Re: 17" Wheels and Springs
My rim offset is either 40mm, or 42mm. Will these rub with 205/40/17 tires on each???
Thanks.
~A
