max wheel fitment

Post by ikedasquid »

ok, so now that i have some money i'm planning on finally getting some better tires and rims. i'm planning on axis maglites because they seem to be about 4 pounds lighter per wheel than most. also i found a deal for $1150 for a set with 225/45/17 tires. i really wanted somthing bigger than a 205/40 and i don't plan on slammin it any time soon (even more cash i don't have). anyway, has anyone tried this? i know it will fit in the wheel well (only an extra inch and a half in diameter) but what about rubbing on the suspension? i'm concerned that there might not be enough clearance?
these are the tire and rim diameters if anyone wants to know
225/45/17 - 24.97"
205/40/17 - 23.45"
185/65/14 - 23.47"
w/s/r
w*s*2+r = diameter (note wheel width must be in inches, not in mm)
