If i buy lowering springs dp i need to change struts?

Post by roly_39 »

If i buy lowering springs do i need to change my struts? I seem to recall reading that the original struts weren't meant to be used this way so they should be changed. Thanks a lot....

I'm not sure if I am right but I believe you could use the stock struts. I don't think it would be good for them though.

it depends on how low...a 1.3 you will be able to get buy no problem for a long while before the struts pop....a 1.7 is pushing it but you might be ok for a year or so.....after that they will pop real easy with anything more

you SHOULD use better aftermarket struts, because the stock ones, even if not blown, cannot dampen the higher rate springs correctly, and your handling will be crappy.

If you have the cash get them as "protege" said your car won't handle as good with stockers, but if not then you might be able to skimp by for a bit until the stocker's pop
