Went to the Dyno...

Post by cjthor »

OOkkay so I have been having serious problems with air/fuel ratios. So I decided to take it to a place called www.torquefreaks.com here in Portland. Threw it on the dyno and adjusted the AFC but I am still wwaaaayyyy rich. After 4k it is going way past 10:1. Need to email Bell engineering about the proper adjustment on the FPR but so far I have 181 horesepower and 176 ft lbs of torque. These numbers are at 10 pounds of boost. I will be going back probably next Wednesday or whenever I get this FMU thing figured out.

ahhh i didn't realize the serevity of the richness; that will definately kill power.
In early Feb. I'm headed to ABACUS racing in VA beach to get dynoed/tuned. i'm curious as to how my NX chiller kit is going to affect the A/F ratios.
PS next time you talk to Derrick tell him I love my Wiseco pistons: there is no lag; i'm breaking traction @ 3,000 rpms 3/4 throttle

Here is a copy of my Dyno sheet. For some reason the torque line didnt fax. The lower lines are my first run. As you can see from the bottom graph my air fuel ratio SUCKS!!!

I went to ABACUS racing and put mine on the dyno and pulled better numbers than you did without a turbo but i'm also running a 35 shot on my kl-ze i put up 198hp and 187ftlbs of torque not bad for for a stock 1.8ltr flywheel and headers and tranny only engine mod i have is the light weight crank pully the ms8 intake manifold which i might add is lovely..... and the nitrous want to add the Eaton supercharger in late march early feb with a wet shot instead of a dry shot. by the way are you around the va beach area. if so would like to see your car with the turbo in it. haven't seen one in person yet but normally don't see a lot of mazdas either. i'm in norfolk for a couple of months give me a holla # 860-912-9875 cell.

Naa man im in Oregon. The problem with my car is that I am going waayy rich after 4k. As soon as I get that problem fixed I am sure I will be well into the 200 hp range.....before nitrous. I have a 75 show juuuust wating to be introduced into the system. But I am sure the engine will give way.

16-1 !!! wow thats lean is that with any boost? Thats the stuff that melts pistons.

Looks like its time to go to a lower ratio FMU like 8-1 to keep the A/F ratio down at the top end.

good luck, keep posting dyno shets.

no, I ment the A/F ratio at low RPM's had spikes up to 16-1, I guess its not that high afer all, since normal is around 13-1 to 15-1.
