K serie engines turbo pipes

Post by babyblueMX3 »

hey guys, i was jsut wondering how many people would be interested in these...I am about to talk with Tom from ludespeed to see if he could start producing them for the 1.8 or 2.5 (the same anyways) but I'm guessing he will ask me how many people is interested..he already makes em for probe gt and is starting to make some for mx6 2.5 owners too...since our engine bay is much smaller than those car the piping would have to be different..so maybe this could become a group buy or somthin'..just checking with you guys..I know he charges about 750$usd for the probe owners and uses hotshot headers primaries
I was about to get mine custom made when i thought of that

You can get flanges made custom. It's actually not that expensive either if you find the right guy to do it. I think I paid couple hundred at the most for mine.

like barry said not everyone is going to use the same turbo so that means new flanges changing the pipes a match up with the new flanges and turbo and i just dont see the set up working with the hot shot headers its very tight under there.

Go on MX6.com and talk to this guy Goatcrapp. He'll tell you all about this guy on their board named Dangerous Dan. He makes custom turbo piping for alot of MX6s. I spoke to him on AIM about making piping for MX3s and he said people can make appointments for him to make the piping. If enough people want them he might just keep the measurements or whatever for the pipes. That way not everyone has to go to him in Pennsylvania to get the piping. The guys AIM screen name is Goat Crapp. Or go to www.MX6.com and check their bulk buys. The guy making the piping will have a post their with info. I heard theyre made better than Ludespeed piping. You can ask him about the turbo flanges.

I am interested! Only problem, how do we decide on where they are going to be routed? Such as, where will the turbo mount?

we could all agree to all the same piping routing..about the flanges..almost everybody uses the same wastegate and bov...most people aslo uses t3's or t3t4 so there isn't too much possibility..well there is but it always comes down to the same....i personnaly would go with a T4/T40E with a tial 38mm wastegate and a greddy type s bov....i would like to have the turbo at the place where the battery sits..kind of like jeff abrams did in his mx...I'm sure we could agree on all the same set-up and get pipes done cuz we all know that's the hardest and time concuming part of the turbo set-up..so what you all think? i knew that dangerous dan on mx6.com was making some for the mx6...
and the piping with hotshot primaries wouldn't be at all different than in a probe or mx6..if they fit a probe they'll fit in a mx3..
anyways...goatcrapp, dangerous dan or ludespeed they all seems to be making great pipes...
so what do you guys think of that set-up above?

The Dangerous Dan setup would be the most applicable for us all here. Because dan will custom make anyones pipes in anyway they want providing they are willing to spend the money. His kit is currently selling at 700 bucks for the turbo piping, non-intercooled.

On another note, Precision motorsports, who also has turbo piping made for the PGT, currently plans to release something for our cars later this year. Along with turbo pipes, he plans to make roll cages and maybe traction bars too. I talked to him (neonman, PT screenname) a few times about it. He might need some mx-3s in Tenn to do some test fitting (Heads up Barry). Also i should add that he wants to add the MX3 to his lneup, but i have the feeling that he might need some proof that us MX3ers are serious about performance. SO ill let you guys take that how you want. web page

Hey guys , I do cutom turbo kits for anyone in need , I can route the pipes anywere you'd like them , and make them from any material. currently i working on using a set of ss autochrome headers as primary for a guy over at mx-6.com
I'm well versed in kl's as i had the first 12 second pgt(2nd overall) in the 12's on the juice 12.965 @ 108.27 on nitto's , and also went 14.0 n/a with straight ze swap .

What up Dangerous Dan. I told that guy Goatcrapp I'd let the Mx-3 people know about you. Hopefully alot of people will be interested and you can start mass producing the kits so people dont have to go to your garage to get the kit made. Eventually I'm gonna stop by with my MX-3. I live right in Queens, NYC so I'm not too far away. Hopefully I'll have money this summer but things always take longer than I hope. :(

hey Dan...like we were saying at the start of this thread...if yu would manage to build pipes..everybody would have to run the same set-up right..any chances making them as the owner wish to have them...I for myself is thinking a intercooled set-up...I would be interested but won't have the money till this summer..I know this takes time to produce so i guess I'll have the money by then...yeah I think that using ssautochrome headers would be a good idea...

what i can do , is setup a bulk buy kinda deal , were one guy volunteers his car for short time (dependant of order #'s) , and i could build all your deals to cutom needs all at once .
I would need 50 % deposits, since you all plan on doing diffrent things , i would need you to ship me you turbo's , wastgates , and intercoolers so i can fit them up perfect .
I can use aftermarket headers whihc may incur more cost depending on the type , and can also use 304ss or 321 ss for more added costs .
I'm willing to try to accomdate everyone , but need fit up car to doit .

im definitely in, since im gonna turbo my mx3 with 2.5 probe engine in future, but $750 is too much for custom tubes... if i had tube bender id do it myself, id rather buy tube bender and some exhaust tubing and it myself for 1/2 that price. so see if you can get lower price, group buy..????keep me updated
