Turbo manifold???
Turbo manifold???
Straight to the point! Can the b6t turbo manifold bolt onto the bpt motor? The reason I'm asking is because I figure I can just buy the b6t motor and use it for parts. Its only $700. I swaped in the protege Bp 1.8l motor in my 1993 MX3 a couple months ago and I now want more horsepower. I figure I can just rob and bolt on the turbo, turbo manifold and injector onto my BP 1.8L motor.

Re: Turbo manifold???
The reason why a b6t manifold won't work is because the 1.8l BP series blocks and heads are physicaly longer than the 1.6l B6 series. When I got rid of my stock F25M-R tranny for the G series tranny of a 92 Pro LX I had to customize my tranny mounts, machine my jack shaft mount, & have a custom length driver side axle made (it ripped the cv boots in half on the driver side axle). It did that because the 1.6 B6T block was shorter than the 1.8 BPD block it came of of.

Re: Turbo manifold???
That wasn't a very smart thing to do. All you had to do is use the portege transmission mount and it should fit right in. Same goes for the axles. I not a 100% sure, I'm still using the b6 sohc transmission with my BP motor.
