Re: 20 lbs of boost
sounds good. be sure to keep us posted. have you gotten any dyno runs at the psi? what type of fuel set-up do you have? are you using a metal head gasket?

Is it a TO4B or E housing and do you know the trim/AR of the turbo you have? BTW, what type of engine management are you running?
Thanks

Re: 20 lbs of boost
snyper, you're running a 1.8gtx vj-20 on your b6t? the only thing i would be worried about with the corksport setup is backpressure at higher rpms. i can't remember exactly the size of the super 60 comp wheel though so i'm not sure if that will be a factor. if you have any input on this, let me know because i'm dropping in my bpt in about 2 weeks and am already looking for upgrades
i've been "told"(you know how that goes) that the t3/t4 has too big of a turbine to fit on the b6t, that it will have a quite a bit of lag. but tex seemed to be doing good with his setup he had....so go figure

Re: 20 lbs of boost
Well i might not have a big turbo(yet) but i know how to spool it up. n02!!! throw a little n02 in there and you will be set. go ahead and throw that t3/t4 hybrid on there and get yourself some good old n02!works wonders.if you have the $ to spend on custom turbos you have plenty to get the bottle.wish i had some damn it
well good luck!

quote:
Originally posted by oo7sniper:
I don't think that back pressure would be an issue as long as the exhaust systems diameter is large enough to handle the added exhaust pressure. I'm probably going to do the Corksport Hybrid for killer quick spool up & then shoot a heavy 150HP shot of wet nitrous on the top end when some smart a$$ comes back on me with a bigger turbo. The B6T's & BPT's are some of the strongest stock 4cylenders ever produced!!!! Stock they can take 17-18psi & have no problems. After you upgrade the pistons & rods to forged ones it can take just about ANY thing!!!! I've been talking to Derick at Corksport a LOT on many ideas. He was say the stock head gasket should be fine. But an after market metal head gasket would be a little bit safer & recommended. If mine wasn't going to be my daily driver I'd go ahead and do a T3/T04E w/ a 200HP shot of wet Nitrous (maybe more) on the top end giving me a grand total of about 600-650HP at the flywheel pushing my et's in to the low 9's on a 1/4 mile, depending on how well I could get it to the ground. Of coarse then I'd have to have my trannies cryo treated and custom axles made... not to mention I'd still be breaking them over a period of time any way. I'm keeping my car for street & strip mainly due to my income..but thats me so if someone else has the money... go for it!!!! I'm gonna try to get my car in to the 10 second 1/4 mile range with the full interior & system still in it (gonna be VERY tough to do!!!). Being that you're doing the BPT you have more displacement so the Corksport hybrid I'm using will let you obtain aroud 350HP @ 25psi spooling up around 2500RPM.
Just remember to use a large intercooler. I have the APEXi Silva IC, but am thinking about stuffing the APEXi GTR IC in there (yes it will fit too!!). If you want a quick spooling turbo with butt loads of HP go with the Corksport Hybrid. If you want all out race & aren't worried about spool up time then get the T3/T04E Hybrid.
---------------------------
Jeremy W. Miller
93 Mazda MX-3 RS-R w/ J-Spec B6T
