Any turbo mx-3 in this forum?
I am a new member. I will like to know a little more about turbocharging an Mx-3 and how well do they do against the competition out there. I don't have and Mx-3 but i have a turbocharged miata. I know that there is a website called www.corksport.com where they modify mx-3's with bigger engines.

I have a turbo KL03 V6 engine in my Mazda 323. http://photos.lycos.com/s.asp?r=b1a2isk ... _118911

I swapped the engine from my 626 into the 323 -- the weight (3050 lbs) of the 626 shredded gears when I stomped on it on boost. The 323 weighs 2400 lbs as is (street, not stripped). Unfortunately the MX3's (I use the MX3 subframe) drive shafts are not the strongest -- I've snapped 3 this summer in two montsh drag racing. Best so far with drive shaft, igintion, and air flow issues was 13.2s@109mph on drag radials. Car is untuned.

Turbocharged 1.6l DOHC MX-3 using a B6T motor. Definitely good gains from the swap, will never buy another car if I can't have a turbo on it.
Don't have any ets yet.

Re: Any turbo mx-3 in this forum?
i have an mx3 rs originally equipped with a sohc 1.6. i installed the dohc from later year mx3's because of availability of parts and block design. the dohc will be turbocharged and a healthy dose of NOS will be used through a pro-race fogger set-up.as for engine control a piggy back fuel injection system is being installed and stand alone ignition is in the works. plans on 400 -450hp and times in the 11 sec range are expected and not far from being completed. all engine internals were going to be miata upgraded parts but bigger and stronger forged aluminum, titanium parts were found.
