Cumberland, MD Airport Autocross this weekend

Post by Gro Harlem »

On both saturday and sunday there is an autocross at the Cumberland Airport (technically in WV, but right outside of Cumberland, MD).

I'm definitely going to be there both day, not sure if i'm going to race both days or not, but I might.

Their last autox was in October, and I must say, it was the best Autox i've ever attended. The airport has smooth pavement and huge areas to set up courses. The courses they set up at this location are always longer than usual and very technical and just flatout awesome.

Anyone in the MD/PA/VA/WV area should try to make it out, you won't regret it.

The official website for these events is located here:

There isn't much info about this weekends autox, but I think it is $30 to race and free to spectate, and you should probably try to get there by around 10-11am if you want to autocross.

Hey, sounds like fun! I am thinking about making my way down there at least one of the days (if not both). I saw you have to fill out a registration form and mail it to them to race, because it is only limited to 100people. Do you think all the spots will fill up? Plus, i'm not sure if im ready to race, dont think the mx will pass tech :)

Naw, i highly doubt they'll have all 100 spots filled in. Last october, it was like 60 ppl on saturday and maybe 75 on sunday.

BTW: it might rain on sunday, so if you can make it satday, try to. I'm going to race on saturday for sure, and maybe also on sunday (assuming i have enough $$$). I wouldn't really say that i'm "competing", more like racing for fun.

If you can race, why wouldn't you? its fun as f*ck man!! You'll have a blast.
