CF question.......
an inquisitive mind HAS to know... any one know what materials go into carbon fiber material?... anyone know anything about the process of making carbon fiber??????

i was told once that its almost the same as fiber glassing. Except its carbon fiber and I dont know what type of resin.. not 100% sure on this

MX-3 w/ curved neck millenia klde, boosted @ 5 psi. /bov and wastegate are good!/ nitto drag radial/ gutted interior/ millenia red top injectors, vortech fmu/aem wideband/ all bolts ons/ Car put together 100% by me. Mechanic? who needs a mechanic? ew.. real men work on their own cars!

i work with carbon fiber and it's basically a woven cloth of strands of carbon, graphite, etc.

carbon fiber cloth/fabric + resin/hardener mix... and wait a few hours lol
this is without a mold (just covering something in cf)
o.. and for car seats you can use that "carbon fiber vinyl" that shops use, and just sew it together.

you won't be able to sow carbon fiber to a leather. it's woven, but it's very fragile and comes apart easily.Originally posted by matt-gerrard:

the only way i can think of is to use an adhesive to attatch the cf to a black vinyl, then sew from there. but then any slight object can easily fray the carbon fiber. not worth it IMO.
